Information obtained from Family Bible and first person account of Maggie Bessie Vogel Richards.
Bernhard was thought to have come over from the Lorraine part of France. He had a brother Arnold Vogel who never married and he died by having his horse run away from him and it killed him. Bernhard was of German descent but naturalized as French- when his whole family came over to America. Bernhard's father was also named Bernhard, returned to the "mother country". Bernhard was a small man. He had several sisters . He died of heart trouble. He came to America when he was about 14 years of age. Should have famiy that settled in Pa. He died about three months before his youngest daughter was born. Still working on this line and will add when I receive more information.
