Rocky Mount

Recently I visited a museum near my home, the Rocky Mount Museum. Rocky Mount, built in 1772 by William Cobb, was the Territorial Capitol of the Southwest Territory between 1790 and 1792.

Living history tours offered daily give the visitor an insight into life in 1791.

Costumed interpreters describe how the Cobb family lived in 1791 during the time that William Blount, the Governor of the Territory of the United States South of the River Ohio was a guest in their home.
