A question asked over and over again: "how do I make gold
text in PSP without using plugins?" |
|
![]() |
Make a new file, the size you'll need and with a white background. |
![]() |
Make both foreground and background color white |
![]() |
Set text in a heavy font (like Aral black)
and make it large (say 72 pix.). Apply the text, and keep it selected troughout this 'exercise'. |
![]() |
Apply Hot Wax Coating: FIVE times in PSP4 and PSP5, only TWO times in PSP6 or you'll end up with a nearly black text! |
![]() |
Colorize: This should give you the gold effect. |
![]() |
Apply drop shadow, black, opacity =80, blur=5, |
![]() |
Go to selections > Modify > Feather. Feather selection to 5 pixels. |
![]() |
Hit delete once (your 'work' will turn white) |
![]() |
Apply Hot Wax Coating once, then Colorize with the previous settings. Repeat if necessary. That's all, folks... |
Though... of course I advise you to play with the setting, try other
settings too. For instance other hues for all colorize steps seem to
be just as great! This was originally sent to Comp.graphics.apps.paint-shop-pro by Marios, so I'm sure he won't mind my using his technique to teach you, too! I hope I've helped you with this little tutorial! |
