I am writing to tell you about several doors that the Lord has opened for us to serve Him this winter. My church, Virginia Beach Christian Life Center, is sending a team to Russia for two weeks in October to work at an orphanage we support in Fominki. These children will range from 8 to 15 years in age. Many have spent most of their lives living in the orphange. Many have never known their parents. All have lived through difficult, sometimes tragic times. Statistics show that the future for many orphans offers much of the same. Children's Hope Chest, the organization sending us, is a ministry bringing encouragement and hope through the love of Christ to these children.
Our team will be organizing and leading programs for the children. Activities will include crafts, drama, music and sports. But our most important time with the children will be in our family time. We each will be paired with a group of orphans. Our desire is to bring them hope and joy through a program where they will learn important Biblical truths and solid values.
Would you prayerfully consider becoming a financial and/or prayer partner for this mission? We need to raise our travel expenses by October 1, 2004. We ill need prayer partners who will lift up the team, the children, and the staff, and us before and during the trip.
