Thomas Blanton was born about 1808 in South Carolina and died before 1870 in Nacogdoches County, Texas and is probably buried, unmarked, in Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He married Sela "Celia" A. Jones, who was born ca. 1810 in South Carolina and is probably buried, unmarked, in Swift Cemetery in the Swift Community of Nacogdoches County, Texas.
In the 1870 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas she was located living in the home of he daughter, Matilda Cureton and Hardy Harrell. It is believe that she died about 1874-5 in Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Margaret Blanton, born ca. 1847 in Alabama. 8. Elvin P. Blanton, born 18 October 1832 and died 15 January 1895 and is buried in Swift Cemetery. 1. Gordene Blanton, born 19 February 1871 and died 4 January 1896, buried Swift Cemetery.
Rebecca Blanton, daughter of Sela "Celia" A. Jones and Thomas Blanton, was born 4 March 1843 in Alabama and died 12 August 1903 and is buried in Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas. She married Thomas Kelly Cureton on 29 July 1869 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Thomas Kelly Cureton, son of Mary J. Kelly and William Obediah Cureton, was born 9 March 1847 in Alabama and died 25 September 1923 and is buried in Swift Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He was a Mason and has a Masonic marker on his tombstone.
In April of 1864 Thomas Kelly Cureton enlisted in Co. D., Texas Cavalry, 3rd Regiment of the Confederate States Army. He is on the Muster Roll of Captian C. C. Garyson's Company of Nacogdoches County, Texas for the Month of January 26, 1863 (Document #276). He received Confederate Pension # 16151 and Mortuary Warrant #6574. He also appears on the 1870 Muster Roll of Nacogdoches County, Texas.

Melvin Geter Blanton, son of Sela "Celia" A. Jones and Thomas Blanton was born 20 January 1837 in Alabama and died 2 March 1905 (court records), and is buried in the Swift Cemetery in Swift, Nacogdoches County, Texas. He married 1st. Louisa A. Burnaman, daughter of Emily Johnson and Phillip L. Burnaman II, on 2 November 1865 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He married 2nd. Susan Frances Baker, daughter of Sarah Isabella Harris and William M. Baker, on 3 August 1876 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Susan was born 10 October 1848 and died 29 May 1924 and is buried in the Swift Cemetery. She received Confederate Pension #16115 and COnfederate Mortuary Warrant # 7436. Melvin is listed on the 1861 and 1862 Tax List; the 1864 Relief List; the 1870 Muster Roll; the 1870 and 1880 Census of Nacogdoches County, Texas.
He served in the Confederate State Army in Co. A., 17th Regiment Texas Cavalry and was captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, on 11 January 1963. He was taken to Camp Douglass, Illinois until a later exchange.

Joel Pinkston Blanton, son of Louisa A. Burnaman and Melvin Geter Blanton, was b. 19 August 1866 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. and died 15 July 1930 and is buried in the Swift Cemetery in Swift, Nacogdoches Co., Tx. Joel married 1st. Amanda Corine Dickerson on 17 December 1891 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx.; and 2nd. Elizabeth "Lixzzie" Frances Daniel on 5 November 1896 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. Lizzie was b. 10 February 1882 and died 17 November 1960 and is buried in Swift Cemetery. He is found in both the 1870 and 1880 Census of Nacogdoches Co., Tx.

John Lee Blanton, son of Louisa A Burnaman and Melvin Geter Blanton, was b. 5 February 1868 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. and died 9 December 1946 and is buried in Swift Cem. in Swift, Nacogdoches Co., Tx. He married Sarah Etta Lee, daughter of Steve Lee, on 10 September 1888 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. He is in both the 1870 and 1880 Census of Nacogdoches Co., Tx.
Malinda Ann Blanton, daughter of Louisa A. Burnaman and Melvin Geter Blanton, was b. 17 March 1873 and died 29 January 1918 and is also buried in Swift Cem. She married John Thomas Cureton, on 10 December 1891 in Nacogdoches Co., Tx. John Thomas Cureton, son of Laura E. Laribee and Elias L. Cureton, was b. 25 May 1870 (1871?) in Nacogdoches Co., Tx., and died 15 May 1947 and is buried in Swift Cem.
