CURRIE, DAVIDSON, DECKER, DEWITT, DICKINSON, DOUGHERTY, FERRIS, FINCH,
HAYDEN, HADEN, HADDEN, HETHERINGTON, HOVENCAMP, HOYT, MCCLARING, MORE,

information on or are more difficult families to find or are not related

NEWS for September 2007 - NOTICE:
I've decided to make a radical change in this site. Identity theft
has become an increasing concern for me. For various reasons, some
which I'll share with you, I have become concerned with having made the
details of the lives of our ancestors available online. At one
point I removed photos of living relatives. I became aware that
individuals who had some relationship with relatives were showing
inordinate interest in the family history and were asking questions
about whether or not I am planning to publish any of this - I have no
such plans. There's really very little market, quite honestly.
There are also family disputes of various kinds about who was who, were
people came from, etc. I find them distasteful. I have also
found that I have supplied a lot of information to various people who
have not reciprocated. But, most troubling are the films and tv
shows, some of you have seen them, where identity thieves take the
identity of deceased people and exploit that identify in many ways.
I do this research for
various reasons, one of which is to preserve the family history. I
do not want someone to take advantage of that information, to insinuate
themselves into the families. I do not want anyone in the family
to have any kind of loss because of the information I've found on the
families, and that's already happened in a small way.
So, there will be only a
couple of pages here for people to find a connection with the families I
am researching. I will require some kind of proof of family
connection to supply additional information. I will keep records
of what information I have given to what individuals and I will
prosecute anyone who uses any information I supply for personal gain or
to take anything from any member of these families.
I'm sorry if that sounds
harsh but I've done most of this research myself. I didn't do for
personal gain but for personal interest, enjoyment and to honor my
ancestors. Like anyone, I don't like being taken advantage of and
I will now do what I need to protect myself in the future.

I am happy to share information and copies of photos with family members
but, as I indicated above, I will prosecute anyone who exploits the
information I share for their own gain or for the purposes of defrauding
any member of these families.
