We met on March 6, 1998 Friday, here in Vancouver, British Columbia. We met at Calvin and Miriam's place where the weekly Joshua Fellowship (JF)meeting was being held that night. Our church, Evangelical Chinese Bible Church (ECBC), has many ministries and JF is one of them. It was Daniel's first time to join JF and there he was helping out with the singspiration by playing his guitar. He has serenaded me on various occasions with/without his old time friend, his "geetar" that he's had since his teens. |

Daniel and I hit it off from the start. He was so easy going and
fun to talk with. And in the midst of our conversation, I found out many things about him. Things that made me wonder,......hmm....this guy is unique because we share so much in common and he seems to meet all the criteria I had in the back of my mind. And driving home that night, I thought, "Gee, I think I might just have met the person I might marry." Something
I've never said before meeting someone for the first time. | |

And with God as our matchmaker, He knew best. We both feel we are each other's answered prayers.
It's like we were made-to-order for each other. Our commonality and compatability factors are beyond belief! Our ability to communicate with each other is uncanny too. Sometimes, we're just thinkin' a thought and the other person says/does what the other is just thinkin'! It's almost as if God has "tuned" our minds to the same wavelength. Then on June 1st,1998 Daniel popped "The Big Question". Standing in the moonlight, outside my home....Daniel asked me,"Will you marry meeeeeee???" I replied, "Yesssssss! I will be honored and so happy to be Mrs. Daniel Wee!" And finally, to have the blessings of our parents is the icing on the cake! On June 16th,1998 Tuesday night, Daniel drummed up enough courage to approach my parents to ask permission for my hand in marriage. Kneeling respectfully before my parents and holding their hands, Daniel politely and nervously asked for their permission and in Hokkien too! (Hokkien's a chinese dialect spoken in places like the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan.) Daniel said he rehearsed what he was going to say in Hokkien with the help of his father since he wanted everything to be just "right"! With our parents' blessings and support and with the help of the Lord above overlooking our affairs, we embark on the next chapter of our lives...getting ready to be husband and wife! |
