1. Rufus Marion¹ Smiley was born Tennessee March 10, 1869.

He married Martha Jane Unknown. Martha was born Tennessee Sept. 14, 1871. At 17 years of age Martha became the mother of Zola Edna Smiley Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma, Feb. 24, 1889. At 26 years of age Martha became the mother of Oscar Smiley Nov. 20, 1897. At 28 years of age Martha became the mother of Cornice Smiley Feb. 3, 1900. At 31 years of age Martha became the mother of Everee Smiley Dec. 28, 1902. At 31 years of age Martha became the mother of Ura Deana Smiley 1903. At 33 years of age Martha became the mother of Lela Mae Smiley Dec. 31, 1904. At 37 years of age Martha became the mother of Era Smiley July 12, 1909. At 40 years of age Martha became the mother of Oneta Smiley 1912.

At 19 years of age Rufus became the father of Zola Edna Smiley Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma, Feb. 24, 1889. At 28 years of age Rufus became the father of Oscar Smiley Nov. 20, 1897. At 30 years of age Rufus became the father of Cornice Smiley Feb. 3, 1900. At 33 years of age Rufus became the father of Everee Smiley Dec. 28, 1902. At 34 years of age Rufus became the father of Ura Deana Smiley 1903. At 35 years of age Rufus became the father of Lela Mae Smiley Dec. 31, 1904. At 40 years of age Rufus became the father of Era Smiley July 12, 1909. At 43 years of age Rufus became the father of Oneta Smiley 1912.

Rufus Marion Smiley and Martha Jane Unknown had the following children:

2 i. Zola Edna² Smiley⁽²⁷⁸⁾ was born Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma Feb. 24, 1889. Zola died July 1969 Houston, Harris County, Texas, at 80 years of age. She married Leonidas Lafayette "Lonnie" Watson Cherry Mound Community, Grayson County, Texas, Feb. 15, 1914. Leonidas was born Cherry Mound Community, Grayson County, Texas Aug. 4, 1890. Leonidas was the son of Morton Price Watson and Amanda Alletha "Allie" Goff. Leonidas died Feb. 9, 1971 Savoy, Texas, at 80 years of age. Leonidas became the father of Jenny Mae Watson April 25. At 24 years of age Leonidas became the father of Marion Price Watson Cherry Mound Community, Grayson County, Texas, Nov. 17, 1914. At 26 years of age Leonidas became the father of Helen Amanda Watson Jan. 16, 1917. (See Leonidas Lafayette "Lonnie" Watson for the continuation of this line.)

Zola became the mother of Jenny Mae Watson April 25. At 25 years of age Zola became the mother of Marion Price Watson Cherry Mound Community, Grayson County, Texas, Nov. 17, 1914. At 27 years of age Zola became the mother of Helen Amanda Watson Jan. 16, 1917.

+ 3 ii. Oscar Smiley was born Nov. 20, 1897.

4 iii. Cornice Smiley was born Feb. 3, 1900. Cornice died Feb. 14, 1917 at 17 years of age.

5 iv. Everee Smiley was born Dec. 28, 1902. She married Carley Smith. Carley became the father of Bill Starr Smith Aug. 1931. (See Carley Smith for the continuation of this line.)

At 28 years of age Everee became the mother of Bill Starr Smith Aug. 1931.

6 v. Ura Deana Smiley was born 1903. Ura died 1903 at less than one year of age.

7 vi. Lela Mae Smiley was born Dec. 31, 1904. She married Dave Burge. (See Dave Burge for the continuation of this line.)

8 vii. Era Smiley was born July 12, 1909. Era died 1935 at 25 years of age. She married T. G. Lonas.

9 viii. Oneta Smiley was born 1912.
