1. William¹ Brooks was born Whitechurch, Hampshire, England 1610. William died Oct. 30, 1688 Deerfield, Maryland, at 78 years of age.

He married Mary Burt Haberton, England, Oct. 18, 1654. Mary was born Harberton, Devonshire, England bef. April 13, 1635. Mary was the daughter of Henry Burt and Ulalia Marche. Mary died Aug. 30, 1689 Deerfield, Franklin County, Maryland, at 54 years of age. At 32 years of age Mary became the mother of Joseph Brooks Springfield, Hampden County, Maryland, Oct. 17, 1667.

At 57 years of age William became the father of Joseph Brooks Springfield, Hampden County, Maryland, Oct. 17, 1667.

William Brooks and Mary Burt had the following child:
