Our first morning.
Previous day we drove up from Virgina - a 12 hour drive. Parked at Galehead trail head and took taxi back arround to Lincon woods. Hiked a couple of miles in under a full moon - almost didn't need our head lamps.
We didn't bother putting on the tent fly because it was not a cold night, and we hoped it would help reduce the frost on the inside of the tent. It didn't. At 5:30 AM when we got up It was 8 deg F outside and 18 deg F inside the tent.
It had snowed 7 " the day before and there was fresh snow on all the twigs, but this morning it looked like it would be a beautiful day.
