It's amazing how much weddings costs!

Just mention you are getting married in a store and $$$ signs appear in store clerks eyes. Brendon and I had to be very smart about every dime we spent. As we had no income and we were living off savings and paying for this wedding ourselves.

One of the best gifts I was given was the book "Bridal Bargains" by Denise and Alan Fields. You can visit their website for more details on this fantasic book at: Bridal Bargains Reading it was the first thing we did in our preparations for our big day and I recommend it to you before you spend a single cent.

We kept a running list of everything we spent on our wedding down to every detail. The Grand Total for our wedding...$5337.42 New Zealand dollars. That works out to be ...$2,638.18 U.S.

We are quite proud of ourselves for making our wedding frugal. The one thing we spent the most on was the photographer which we couldn't have been happier with his work or his price. Splurging on the photos was very important to us as they are all we really have left to look back on now.

If you are in the process of planning for you wedding and you'd like information on how we did things please feel free to email us as we'll gladly share our knowledge. The wedding industry is brutal and out for blood, I'm happy to report they didn't get any of ours. Good luck to you and I hope we have been some sort of help and inspiration.
