Contrary to common misconception, rabbits are not rodents. They belong to order lagamorpha and family Oryctoiagus cuniculus. Therefore they do not and can not carry or contract most of the diseases carried or contracted by rodents. Rabbits have six incisors (front teeth), two on the bottom and four on the top, whereas rodents have only four incisors, two on the top and two on the bottom.
