First, your screen is made up of millions of little dots
called pixels.
Pixels, simply stated, are the smallest unit of measurement for
your screen.
There are different resolutions that you can choose for your monitor
this will depend on several factors:
- the size of your monitor
- the age of your monitor
- the strength (MB of memory) of your video card
To change your screen resolution follow these simple steps:
- Click with your right mouse button where there are no icons
- Point your arrow to properties and left mouse click
- Point your arrow to the settings tab and left mouse click
- There will be a Screen Area section with a less and
more section
Below that you will see some numbers (IE) 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024
this is telling you the
number of pixels being displayed on the screen.
The larger the number of pixels
the smaller the images(icons and text) will appear on your screen.
Simply hold down your left mouse button on the slide in the center and drag
the arrow slowly to the right. This will increase the resolution of your screen. Move the arrow to 1024x768 and than click apply.
WARNING
If after you click apply your screen goes black or is other wise unreadable,
wait 15 seconds and the computer will reset itself to its last resolution.
(See image below for example of what this should look like)
