Welcome to the world of Tamagotchi and prepared to be impressed. What exactly is a Tamagotchi? Well, a Tamagotchi is a toy manufactured by Bandai which first originated in Japan. Now, the Tamagotchi has hit the market in America and is being sold out in almost every store in America.

A Tamagotchi is a virtual pet that needs to be taken care of by you and kept happy. The story on Tamagotchi is that Tamagotchi is a cyber creature who has traveled millions of miles from its home planet to learn what life is like on earth. You take care of Tamagotchi by feeding it, putting it to bed, cleaning up its bathroom, checking its health, playing with it, giving it injections if sick, and discipline it. You do all this by pressing a series of buttons on the Tamagotchi, and watching all its actions by looking at a small screen. As Tamagotchi grows, it changes looks. If you keep Tamagotchi happy, it will grow into an attractive alien. If you do not keep Tamagotchi happy or take care of Tamagotchi properly, it will mutate into an unattractive alien or leaves, and you will have to start all over again. Tamagotchi will beep, or if you turn off the sound, a small light bulb will light to let you know that Tamagotchi needs something. If Tamagotchi beeps and it needs nothing, it means that Tamagotchi needs to be disciplined. The record for longest lived Tamagotchi is 28 days, which was set somewhere in Japan. However, people have told me that their Tamagotchi has lived longer.

There are three different versions of Tamagotchi. The three versions are American, German, and Japanese. They all have the same number of buttons and options. The differnce between the three versions is feeding and death. In the American and German version, you feed Tamagotchi bread and when Tamagotchi dies, it leaves our planet. In the Japanese version, you feed Tamagotchi rice and when Tamagotchi dies, you see it flying with wings at a cemetary. The reason Tamagotchi does not die in the American version is that Americans cannot handle death like the Japanese can. The Japanese version was the first Tamagotchi ever to be manufactured. It is now really hard to find, and can cost hundreds to purchase. The American and German version is newer, easier to find, and costs much less than the Japanese version. The American version comes in a variety of colors. There are two generations of American Tamagotchi. In the first generation, the colors are clear blue with yellow buttons, light green with yellow edges and buttons, magenta with yellow edges and buttons, purple with pink edges and buttons, white with blue edges and buttons, and yellow with orange edges and buttons. In the second generation, the colors are Blue with pink edges and yellow buttons, clear green with yellow buttons, light purple with blue edges and pink buttons, orange with yellow edges and pink buttons, pink with green edges and blue buttons, turquoise with blue edges and yellow buttons, and white with black edges and buttons. The most popular color for the German version is the clear magenta. A Tamagotchi is very small and has the shape of a chicken egg with a key chain attached to it.

An American Tamagotchi IS 14.99 (retail) and the Japanese Tamagotchi usually sells for $50 in America. A Tamagotchi in Asia is rare and hard to find, so people are willing to pay hundreds and even thousands for one. Tamagotchi in America are usuallly sold out at stores such as Toys 'R' Us, FAO Swartz, and K-Bee-Toys. However, if you can find a Tamagotchi from small Asian stores if you are lucky.

There are also many imitation versions of Tamagotchi out on the market. The most famous imitations are manufactured by Playmates and Tiger Electronics. The Playmates imitations are called Nano Pets and they usually cost $18. There are three differnt types of Nano Pets. They are Nano Baby, Nano Kitty, and Nano Puppy. The Tiger imitations are called Giga Pets and they usually cost $15. There are six differnt types of Giga Pets. They are Virtual Alien, Bit Critter, Digital Doggie, Compu Kitty, Microchimp, and Baby T-Rex. The other imitation versions of Tamagotchi are mostly made from generic companies in China, Japan, and Taiwan and they cost from $10 to $60. The imitation versions come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and number of buttons. Also, they have other types of animals that you can take care of. The most popular animals are cats, dinosaurs, dogs, and monsters. Bandai is also currently making other animals for the Tamagotchi.ads, chat and everything
