Way back in the mid-18th century, a Neely gal married an ancestor of mine in Orange Co., NY. I'm trying to find out about Rebecca's ancestry. I belive her father was a Thomas Neely, who came to America in the early 1700's, lived first in Westchester Co., NY and then moved across the Hudson to the Montgomery, Orange Co. area. I was born a Culver and have often heard of the Neely family but not sure of the connection. Most of the Culvers I know settled in Missouri. My father was Leo Culver born in Kansas in 1915, died in Idaho 1982. His grandfather was Thurman Culver. I am also looking for Harless and Rusing. The world keeps getting smaller and smaller. Found you through familytreemaker.com, Internet Family Finder. We were looking for a grandchild of John Neely 22Apr1817-24Oct1902 named Harold Hunting and your Internet Link came up. John Neely was the son of William B. Neely who was the son of Robert Neely Sr., who was the son of Hugh Neely of Ireland. John's daughter Malinda married a Bruce Hunting and they had one child Harold. Harold showed up in John Neely's will and we didn't know who he was. Cam Neely has always been my favorite player on the Boston Bruins....I still see a lot of fans wear Neely shirts...as i watch the bruins in the playoffs i just wish Cam was still playing but i will always think that he is on the bruins.

My paternal grandmother was Jennie Elizabeth Neely. She was born 1/8/1862 to David Dunlap Neely and Margaret Teressa Wallace near Marion, Perry County, AL. She married John Dean Moseley, and died in her home on West Selma Avenue, Selma, AL. 9/30/1910. They had 9 children, 8 of whom lived to adulthood. Her father,David,(1822-1868), came from SC, as did his father, John, (<1780-1845) and grandfather, Thomas, (b. aft 1726, d. ?)

My father, Lawrence Lester Neely was born in Mannington W.Virgina.

I am the youngest daughter of the late William Jaret Neely and Maude Mae Lance Neely of Ada, Oklahoma. My Neely grandparents are Charles Marion and Fannie Jones Neely (they both are from Gainsville Texas area). My father was born out side of Ada, OK on Ju e 10,1902 and died November 15,1968.His parents are buried at New Bethel Cemetary,near Ada. I would like to learn something about my grandmother. I do have some family history from a distant relative on the Neely family. I think that the Martin name is so e of the Neely family. I have a copy of their marriage license and very few facts. Does anyone know how to help me find out about my grandmother? I am really not into family history a lot at this time. But would appreciate some help getting started. Thank you

Hi--Wondering if there could be a possible link between our Neely families. My great grandfather was Robert Jason Neely b23 Mar 1855 near Springfield, IL who married Mary Ann "Polly" GRAMMER 20 Dec 1878 TX. Robert's parents were John Neely and Mary Eliz beth McElvain. Robert settled near Alvord, TX and had most of his children there: Ullman Jason died 1884 as a child, Benjamin Franklin (my grandfather), Lewis Jones, George Henry, Rosa May, and Dollie Ann. He (Robert) and wife moved to South Creek Towns ip (current town of Prague) in Lincoln County, Oklahoma and became a pioneer settler there. He died 18 Feb 1916 and is buried Prague Cemetary there. I don't have my own homepage but two other cousins do.
