THE WILLIAM & BETSY FISH PAGE
Listed below are all known children of William C. Fish and Betsy (Elizabeth Freeman) Fish.
Family history says that William and Betsy were married December 28, 1856 in Merrimac, Sauk Co., WI, in a double wedding with William's half-sister Adeline Fish and Betsy's brother Milo Freeman. Adeline's request for a widow's pension confirms her marriage date, but no proof has been found that it was a double wedding.
This list is constructed from the U.S. Census reports of 1870 and 1880, Crawford County, WI
Documentation for the location of Verona Fish's place of birth
shows either Michigan or Wisconsin. There is the possibility
that William came to Wisconsin - Michigan - Wisconsin
since his wife settled in WI in 1850 with her parents.
This is before William joined the 19th Michigan Infantry.
