David Roundy's Home Page

Hello everyone! I am David Roundy. I grew up in the city of Orange. My dad is a Chemistry professor at Orange Coast College, and my mom used to teach Physics at Cal State Fullerton, but now she teaches at Fullerton College.

I went to El Modena High School. While I was in high school I met the group of friends that have been my friends ever since. We were (and are) the Strategy Games Club.

David's Student ID I graduated May of '95 from U.C. Berkeley, where I majored in Physics and Chemistry (although I greatly prefer Physics). I started working in Dr. Khakoo's lab, at Cal State Fullerton, the summer of '92, programming data analysis and a program for a plotter. Since then I have worked with him every summer, doing progressively more difficult projects. First, I wrote a Monte Carlo program to analyze the effects of plural and multiple scattering, in Mott Polarimeters. Since then I have worked on the theory side of the gas beam profile experiment which Felix has been doing. Click here to see some illustrations of Felix and I with the gas beam apparatus (and some Xenon).

I am now back at Cal as a graduate student in Physics. I am now working with Marvin Cohen, doing solid state theory. You can now visit my physics web page.

I don't do physics all the time. I also play classical guitar and harmonica, and have enjoyed singing in choirs at church, although currently I do not have time for choir. I started composing music during my last year of college, and that has been a lot of fun. On my music page, I have all sorts of stuff that I have composed. You probably have just heard one of my compositions. I also crochet, although there isn't a whole bunch on my crocheting page. I also enjoy sewing and carving. In fact, I enjoy making just about anything.

The background sound for this page is actually the second complete piece of music I ever composed. It was probably composed in March of 1995. It was originally intended as a duet, but I never found anyone to play the second part. It is entitled 'Version 5', because it had five revisions, and the fifth one was the last one. I had planned on giving it a name, but eventually it just became 'Version 5.'
