Welcome! You have entered the virtual world of David J Marshall. As you can see, my homepage is designed to allow a fleeting glimpse into the life and psyche of yours truly. (Trust me: you really don't want to know more!) But first, a brief introduction . . . Yes, indeed, I am an "Englishman." In fact, I was born in the Roman Spa town of Buxton, in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District. Buxton claims fame as being the highest town in England, and home of the Buxton Opera House and St. Anne's Well, from which flows "free" Buxton Spa Water. The famous water is now bottled and sold worldwide by Buxton Mineral Water Company, a divsion of Perrier. I grew up in the nearby village of Chinley, nestled between the villages of Chapel-en-le-Frith and Hayfield. Chapel-en-le-Frith being named from the church which was erected there by Foresters from the Royal Forest in 1225, with Frith being a local word for forest. Hayfield boasts farms and cottages dating from the late 17th century. However, I digress. I am now a non-native Floridian, having moved to Orlando, Florida, seven years ago. As you can see, my favorite color is blue, and my favorite flower is the rose--nah, just checking to make sure you're really reading this--my favorite flower is, of course, the humble daffodil. Actually, the daffodil is just about the only thing I miss from my birthplace--it seems Central Florida is a little too hostile a climate for such a tender flower to set its roots--for me, too, I'm afraid! Well, enough about me--tell me a little something about you. I am fascinated and excited about the opportunities the world wide web gives us to virtually get to know the whole world, and, I have to admit, getting mail ranks up there with my favorite things. Drop me an e-note, and then check out my links. They contain a few of, as Julie Andrews would sing, "my favorite things." Perhaps you'll find some of your own favorite things represented. Or maybe you'll find something new and fun to enjoy. Either way, I am happy to provide a web stop which caters to a variety of needs and interests and even acts as an educational and technical tool. I hope you will enjoy your time in my world enough to stop by again as I frequently update in order to better serve and please my virtual guests. Tell your friends and family too! Until we meet again, Happy Surfing! Sincerely, David OK, here's a challenge for you . . . My favorite poem is _______________ (beloved blooms) by an English Romantic Poet who later became his nation's Poet Laureate. Or try this one . . . My other favorite poem is _______________ Perhaps one for the birds, but certainly a change in direction! ![]() ![]() Graphics are copyright, by: Web Ad-Vantage, All Rights Reserved.
