I'd like to be a candle
In the middle of the night;
And when your days are darkest

A friend that you can talk to
Is what I try to be.
A tiny light in the darkness
Just there for you to see.

It doesn't really matter
If you're a woman or a man.
I'll try to make you welcome
And help you if I can.

I promise not to judge you;

And try hard not to hurt
Or ever be unkind.

I want you to know that I care;
I want you to understand
I'd like to be there with you,
I'd like to shake your hand.

Although the miles separate us,
Although we're far apart.
We share our joys and our pain;
You're always in my heart.
