QUATTLEBAUM FAMILY

Petter QUATTLEBAUM was born about 1698 in what is now Germany. His marriage on April 11, 1723 to Anna Maria Barbara von der Hutte(Herkendal) (abt 1702-aft 1746) was recorded in the Register of the Evangelical Congregation of Kettwig. Petter, with wife and children, came to Philadelphia on October 19, 1736. He died in Kinsingtown, PA and was buried on Jan 14, 1748. My 4th great grandfather, MATHIAS QUATTLEBAUM, along with brothers, Johanne and Petter moved to South Carolina around 1765. Mathias settle in the Newberry District, Dutch Fork area where he married Rachel Derin (b. 1748, Germany d. abt 1803 in SC). Children of Rachel and Mathias: 1. Rachel b. 1784 SC d. Feb, 1853 m.
