Why pay retail for antiques? Needlepoint has been my passion for 20 years with my own personal philosophy "she/he who dies with the most needlepoints win!" For the last 10 years I have bought any finished needlepoint, pre-worked canvas or kit that I liked. Now it is taking over the house and time to recycle. At any given time I work on 5 projects. Also, vintage textiles are my passion and I have a diverse collection of quilts, Japanese obi, kimonos, buttons, ribbon and lace...just to name a few.
My friends and family say that if I can't find it, it doesn't exist. Dealers knock on my door with requests like I'm Macy's, so in my humongous treasure trove I might have something you are looking for or I might find it for you in the near future. Please fill out a request form, I might have it. I strive to find the unusual and generally buy what I like. The rest follows.
I price my goods fairly based on what I paid for them and some (but not much) margin of profit to start as the opening bid on eBay. The market does the rest. I don't charge a handling fee but due to recent experience must ship only by Priority Mail; Insured 1st Class has proved to be unreliable. I will go that extra mile for the people who buy from me and that has been reflected in my feedback.
I am a stay-at-home mom who gave up a professional life, by choice, to devote myself to the development of our child. I also do oodles of PTA and volunteer work, believing that it is our obligation to give back to the community. However, as is in every situation, we also have economic needs and eBay has provided this perfectly tailored outlet for me and my family. I network with other stay-at-home moms who scour garage sales so we might have that perfect treasure.
