Bernice Stine was born November 1, 1918, near Felton, MN., where she grew up and attended school. She received a teaching certificate from Moorhead State University, then taught school for 13 years in the Felton and Hawley, MN area. On June 10, 1942, she married LeRoy E. Kjonaas near Felton. They farmed near Felton. She also taught third grade in Averill, MN., and Glyndon, MN., for 25 years until retiring in 1981. After retiring, they lived on Big Cormorant Lake near Lake Park, MN. They later moved to Fargo, ND and spent the winters in Arizona. She had been a resident of Viking Manor for the past year and a half.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sandy (John)
Johnson, Hendrum, MN., Pam Kjonaas, Fargo; a brother, Lester (Lee),
Gila Bend, Ariz.; two sisters, Eveline Gilbery, Watertown, SD., Esther
Lake, Fargo; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 6 in Wright Funeral Home,
Moorhead.
Funeral: Monday at 1:30 in North Buffalo Lutheran Church,
Kragness, MN.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
