martin - 03/01/00 19:41:37 Country: England | Comments: Thank you for sharing the memory of your lovely Westie Susie. I know exactly how you feel, My family lost our Jack Russell Terrier Lucy on 24th May 1999 very suddenly, she was 13 years old. Our cat Oscar who grew up with Lucy misses her and pines for her lot of the time. Not a day goes by when I don't think what Lucy is doing in Heaven, out for walks running through fields of long grass with her head bobbing above the tall shutes, running across the garden chasing the birds on the fence or just dozing in ront of the fire. I grew up with Lucy myself, and as you can tell I will always miss her. I'm comforted by the fact that one day we'll be re-united to play and go for long walks. Once again my sincerest condolences in your loss |

Two weeks later, without any warning we lost our little 5lb toy poodle, Tiffany. She was 12 1/2 yrs old and was truly an ex ension of my body. I took her everywhere I went and where she wasn't allowed, she went anyway, in a little carrier. As long as she was with us she didn't care if I carried her in a bag. It has now been six weeks since we lost her, and my husband and I till look at each other and cry. She is everywhere I look and every place I go. It has taken me all this time to get myself to go back to your website. Even though Tiff wasn't our first dog, she was the most special and I truly don't know how we (espec ally me) will ever get over losing her. She was the love of both out lives. We still have our Beasley, a basset hound, also 9. He is really starting to miss Judy now. They have been together all their nine years. T is is the first time he has been without her. I have always been around animals, being raised in Kentucky, but I have never gotten so close to any of my animals, even my dogs, until we got Judy 9 years ago. Her death was so sudden. Two days before she passed on, neither my wife or myself had the si htest idea that there was anything wrong with her. They had even both had their checkups two weeks prior. I lost a part of my heart when Judy died that I will never be able to replace. Your web page is so very touching. I believe I really know how you must of felt when you lost Susie. I share your pain. TREASURED FRIEND I lost a treasured friend today, the little dog who used to lay Her gentle head upon my knee And share her silent thoughts with me. She'll come no longer to my call, Retrieve no more her favorite ball. A voice far greater than my own Has called her to His golden throne. And though my eyes are filled with tears I thank Him for the happy years He let her spend down here with me And for her love and loyalty. Author Unknown |

Susanna - 02/28/99 07:15:44 My Email:sspiro@uclink4.berkeley.edu Country: U.S.A. | Comments: Dear Valerie, I came across your site this evening while searching for "cat memorials"--just today we finally had to put our cat Raysl to sleep because he, too, had kidney failure and had been struggling with it for almost two years. He did very well considering, but n the last few days it became clear that all the treatments--the medicines and IV fluids and special foods--were not going to help anymore and he was too sick to go on. He was nine years old, I'd had him since he was about three inches long, he was a bea tiful lilac point Siamese who looked like Ninky, and it's very hard to lose him... I like looking at the tributes other people have paid to their beloved pets, since they are our dear friends and won't be forgotten. So I just thought I would write and tell you I appreciate your site. I have to go now, since our other cat is biting my ankle. Susanna |

A pet is a member of the family. It is never only just a dog or just a cat, they are your best friend. Nothing good ever comes out of losing a best friend, but alwa s keep in mind that "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" Remember the life and love that you showed your dog and remember the quality of life that you gave your dog. We too are morning the loss of very a loveable little dog called Pepi who died suddenly only 3 weeks ago. A very much loved animal, whom we all miss dearly. Pepi was born 1 May 1982 and die October 22 1998. He also was a Westie. Our previous dog Dougal also died of a cancerous tumour but lived a good old age of 19. Pepi's death has left me with a much broken heart but one day we will probably get another but right now it is too soon. It is nice to be able to express my feelings to another Westie lover as many people do not understand. Thankyou. |

Thank you for this age; it brought both tears and warm memories. |

Robert Arance - 05/05/98 19:08:52 My Email:roberta@uvdi.com | Comments: A sweet tribute to a departed friend. My wife and I share our life with a Cairn (15!!) and a Westie (8). We were in England this past December and I found a book that I gave to my wife as a present. An original 1932 edition, illustrated by Cecil Alden, of Rudyard Kipling's "Thy Servant". We have shared it with fellow dog lovers and recommend it to anyone who has ever lived life in the company of dogs. I also found a current printing of Cecil Alden's "Mac", a delightful story of a Westie. Regards, Robert Arance Valencia, California |
Kay Wilkinson - 05/04/98 20:47:22 My Email:kay_wilkinson@protective.com | Comments: I have had three Westies in my life, all wonderful dogs. My last one, Bonnie, also had a malignant tumor and I had to have her put to sleep in 1994. She was 13 years old and a sweet, loving little dog. Now I have two Labrador Retrievers, a black Scottie and a half Chocolate Lab, half Australian Shepherd.....no room for a Westie right now. I WILL have a Westie again if I live long enough. When anyone who has ever known me sees a Westie, they think of me, because for most of them I was the only person th y ever knew who was lucky enough to have Westies. |
