Miss Penny D. Collie's Top 5 Adventures
Allow me to introduce myself before I let my owners tell you about my exploits. I am about five years old, and possibly pure-bred collie. My exact age and breeding are not known since I was lost in the waters of the Missouri River during the Flood of '93. Once rescued I was soon adopted by Celia and Randy. I love people especially children, barking at the other dogs in the neighborhood, car rides, chewing on my toys and getting my slaves er..uh owners to scratch me in all my favorite places.
5. Miss Penny was with us at Silver Dollar City, and as it happened the real Lassie from television and screen had been there to make an appearance. Penny was in her idea of Heaven. She had admirers for the entire afternoon, kids wanted to pet her, and have their picture taken with her. We told people she wasn't Lassie, but the kids, even some adults did not care. She was a beautiful, friendly collie and she was there.
4. When Cecilia pulled up in the drive-up lane at a fast food restaurant and was asked for her order. Penny promptly spoke up, her order being unintelligible to the clerk on the other end who said. "Madam, if you are drunk, you can go on now." Celia then had a chance to place her order which she received for free as an apology, and Penny got some of their doggie treats.
	3. Asleep in bed one cold winter night I awoke with a strange heaviness on my chest, and a slight difficulty breathing. Groggily I opened my eyes, and even in the dark I could see those eyes; as I found myself nose to nose with Miss Penny. When told to get off, she just laid there as if to say. "Why? I'm comfortable."
		2. Celia had Penny in the backseat of her car when she placed her order at the drive-up lane. After placing her order she realized her purse and money were behind the passenger's seat. She pulled up to the pick-up window and reclined all the way back in her seat, becoming invisible to passers by, and a ready path to the front for Miss Penny. Miss Penny seizing the opportunity stepped forward on Celia and sat on her lap behind the steering wheel of the car. Which is exactly and all the lady saw when she came to the window to hand Celia her order. Celia heard a scream and quickly sat up to the huge relief of the lady at the pick-up window.
	1. One afternoon, both of us left work early, me for school and Cecilia to come home before running errands. Cece let Penny loose and shortly found her in the bedroom, the phone on the floor, tipped over on its side, with the receiver off the hook and Penny busily barking at it....The next day at work I found one voice mail message on my phone from the day before. It was a brief message without any human voices at all, in fact the only voice heard was that of a dog busily barking....
