The Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church is an outgrowth of a "Brush Arbor Meeting" held in July, 1905. The church was first recorded at a meeting of the Chattanooga Presbytery on March 14, 1906.

The early church was filled with men and women who were visionaries about what they knew that God could do in their community.
The church building was remodeled in the middle Thirties with the addition of Sunday School rooms.
The present building was designed by Reverend Eugene Leslie, Associate of the Cumberland Presbyterian Board of Missions. The only original items from the old church building that we have left are the bell, which is located in front of the church and the communion table with two chairs.
Our church has long had an outstanding music program. The present leadership being provided by Sara Vinson, Choir Director, and Patsy Barker, Pianist.
The present Elders are Raymond Vinson, Joe Ray Wilson, Ruby Brown, Dennis Holton, Bill Norman, Bobby Vinson and Randall Vinson. The present Trustees are Joe Ray Wilson, Raymond Vinson and Bill Norman.
