The main library, George Memorial Library in Richmond, houses the Genealogy and Local History Department.The department's resources focus on the southeastern United States, and include materials relating to the history of the south, federal censuses, genealogy, and the Civil War.

A project of the Society is to place all of the Revolutionary Pension Film in the library. Other records: Revolutionary War including Tories, Civil War- Blue & Gray, other conflicts. Index compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers from Texas in the National Archives.

Unique with this library are the Periodical Topical Index and the Periodical Surname Index covering some 200+ periodicals exchanged by the Society.

Nesbitt Memorial Library - Columbus, Texas History & Genealogy Location
The library is at 529 Washington Street in Columbus, across the street from the city's public elementary school and some two blocks from the courthouse.
Hours of Operation
In a routine week, the library is open to the public for 55 hours. The library opens every Monday through Saturday at 9 a.m. It closes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7 p.m., on Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m., and on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Daughters of the Republic Location

The library is located in San Antonio, Texas, on Alamo Plaza, south of the Alamo Church, within the walls of the compound.
General Information
The Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library is open for research Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Beginning in December, Saturday hours will be by appointment only until further notice. To make an appointment call 225-1071. The Library is closed on:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Holdings
The library collections are available on an equal basis to all researchers, subject to the library's usage guidelines. Materials in the library are in closed stacks, and do not circulate outside the building. Access to the collections is provided through an online catalog and other finding aids and guides.
The library's holdings are acquired through donations of collections and individual gifts and of funds for the purchase of needed additions. The gift of memorials honoring friends and family members is a valued tradition of the library. Families of persons so honored are notified of the contribution, and the gift provides a lasting tribute in the collections of the library. For further information on donations and contributions please contact the Library Director.
