FACTS ABOUT LOBSTERS Boiled Alive Are you aware that when you order lobster at a restaurant, it is usually boiled alive? Like any animal, when lobsters are put in boiling water, they start flailing about, desperately trying to escape the excruciating pain. It can take up to 7 minutes for them to succumb to death According to Dr Loren G. Horsley, an invertebrate zoologist, lobsters have a sophisticated nervous system and therefore feel pain when cooked or cut. Putting the lobster in cold water and slowly bringing it to a boil does not lessen the suffering. Most lobsters will shake, tremble, struggle and flip violently as the temperature increases. You can tell if a lobster was boiled alive by the tail, A lobster will curl its under its body when plunged into boiling water. Like all animals,
lobsters can feel pain, and they suffer when they are cut, broiled,
or boiled alive.
