Dan Says Go Here
I'm currently performing on an Improv team called "Mourning In Denver". Check out our schedule of upcoming shows here.
Another place I have performed, this place is a little less famous, but still a cool place for Improv, and probably the cheapest.
This theatre puts up some of the best sketch comedies in Chicago, and is currently running an awesome stage-adaption of three Judy Bloom books called "What Every Girl Should Know". Though it puts up only a couple Improv shows, it's Improv training center is amazing.
These guys combine techniques from the La Ronde and the Movie improv long forms to do some really funny shit. They perform regularly at the Improv Olympic.
Megan Pedersen's uber-swanky online improv journal. She lays it all out for ya, whether your skin is too thin or not. My page got a special mention in it long ago, and Megan's went unnoticed by me till recently. For this I am a lecherous dork pie.
This is where some guy named Ed O'Rourke dipenses his impeccable wisdom about the Chicago Improv Community. Mostly, though, there is a picture of a guy eating ribs.
A gentlemen who I have had the pleasure of improvising with named Matt Larsen has picked up the art of web pages much quicker than I, and with much more valor. This is not surprising, because he has a company called Think Tank Graphics and is hardly the stranger to computers and their programming.
His name in Jason Chin. He's tough as nails, and has Chicago area improv news on tap all the time. And don't forget he concieved "JEDI! A Musical Tour de Force" which was one of the funniest things ever.
Mr. Show is probably the funniest TV sketch comedy of all time, in my twisted opinion. I have three full seasons on tape. Touch them and die!
The world's most famous staged sketch comedy. I did a one time show in the Skybox once and I will brag forever, or until I top myself, whichever comes first.
Scud is one of the few comic books that I call myself a "fan" of, and it is created by Rob Shrab, who performs with the improv team "The Dead Alewives". This is Rob's official website (it hasn't been updated in over a year though, and the "final" issue is over a year over-due. What the hell??).
An independant comic about a sword-wielding aardvark. My personal favorite.
The website of Evan Dorkin, creator of Milk & Cheese, DORK!, and Pirate Corp$ (now called Hectic Planet).
This is a website dedicated to everyone's favorite punk rock sellouts.
The official website for the coolest band in the world. Also, one of them plays the accordian.
This ska band is from Rockford, Il and I've been a devout fan since 1994. Also, they are insane. They did the title track for the Troma film: Sucker.
Probably my favorite ska band, their last release "Pray for Mojo" is a reference to the episode of the Simpsons where Homer gets a pet monkey for being "disabled". The monkey's name was Mojo, and at one point Homer types "Pray for Mojo" on his computer. I have no life...
More punk rock for those who like that sort of thing. The wierdest band ever; the lead singer was on The Jenny Jones Show and he wore a helmet with antlers on it.
If you like film or have any questions about any film ever made then you should have already been at this website forever ago.
Would you like to buy a movie?
Who doesn't love movies about guns and high school girlfriends? This is the cinema1.com site of the above movie.
