Jarrett is the newest addition to our family. He was born a small 8 pounds 4 ounces and 19.5 inches long on April 27, 1998. He is our blessing. When he was born, only Philip and I were there in the room. Since that day, every moment has been wonderful. It seems like just yeasterday that I was updating the page and telling you what he was doing at three and a half months. He is now 11 months old. And, boy has he grown. He rolls all over now. In his attempts to become mobile, he has tried different things. First was rolling. But, when he got into the rolling position, he couldn't get up into the sitting position. He thought that was a really bad thing. Next he tried "butt hopping." This was so cute to watch. Not really using his feet at all, he would bounce his body in the direction that he wanted to go. Although slow, he would eventually get where he wanted to go and was still sitting. Now, he is learning to get his feet to help him move. It is strange to see him stand. He literally stands one the tops of his feet. People that aren't used to seeing him stand, thing that it must hurt him. But, standing, and now walking using furniture to steady himself, is what is normal for him. It doesn't cause him any pain at all. I just know that if his feet were normal, he would be an early walker like his brothers. If he sees something that needs closer inspection when someone is holding him, he gets his feet to kicking. If he is on the floor, not even a two year old or five year old bother can keep him from it.
Jarrett is a very happy baby. He is sure to bring out the best in people wherever he goes. And, with his cubby face, people are sure to want to give him a pinch. One of Jarrett's favorite games is boxing with his brothers. He, also, loves to pet his cat Shadow. His most recent game is to chase down Joshua and give him drool kisses all over. Joshua isn't as excited about this game. I usually hear, "Mom, Jarrett's getting me wet!"
