Fraternity News From Around The Region
FIRST -- I receive newsletters
from 7 of our local fraternities, and I am grateful. Don't we have 30 or so local
fraternities in our Region? Send some news, even if you don't print a newsletter. There

ST CLOUD FRATERNITY St. Cloud, MN
Since 1995 the St. Cloud Frat. has had an
apostolate of sponsoring newly forming Secular Franciscan Communities in Baudette, Elk
River and Brainerd. A few weeks ago Jim and I met with Brother Anthony, 0SF in Fargo. We
have agreed to help them form a Secular Franciscan presence in that area. Truly, the Holy
Spirit has been at work in bringing this increase in Secular Franciscan fraternities
about. Sis Hem SF0

ST. MARY'S FRATERNITY Waterloo, Iowa MARY
HELDT SF0
Mary Heldt, who had served as
minister of St. Mary's Fraternity, passed away on November 20, 1997. Mary had known she
was dying spent the last year putting her affairs in order, including making arrangements
for her fraternity. Ultimately, each of us must confront our own death. Mary was blessed
to know that, at most, her time was short. None of us knows how short our own time might
be. Let us pray that by God's grace we may be ready at all times to hear his call to come
home.
RIP, Mary
