The home was purchased circa 1920 by Louis and Mary Dugan Hale, and there they resided with their 11 children.(See Family Page for children's names.)

After the deaths of Louis and Mary, the residence remained the home of their children John, Margaret, Mary Hale Mente, Lucy Hale Meneilly her husband William Meneilly, and Lucy's and William's five children. I am the youngest daughter of Lucy and William Meneilly and the only family member still residing in the Homestead.

In 1994 I took on the project of completely renovating the old homestead. My goal was to complete the exterior in-line with my memories of how the home appeared to me as a child and with the desire that the good people who once lived in the old homestead would be very proud of the results.With the help of some very competent people and the support of my family, I believe I was able to accomplish this goal.
