First off, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to email me or leave comments in my guestbook. I haven't been checking the guestbook.....I wasn't getting any messages. My wife just checked it last night and couldn't believe that I had 38 entries!! She's printed them all out for me, so I'll be reading them all soon. My name is Rick. I ordered my first Dodge Ram truck in September 1994. I spent weeks picking out everything that I wanted on the truck. I ended up ordering a Dodge Ram 2500 Club Cab Diesel w/ an automatic transmission. I waited anxiously for 8 months for my truck to be ready for pick up. In May 1995, my truck finally arrived. At first, I was happy. Then, the problems started. First, my brakes had premature wear and I had to have them replaced. Then, earlier this year (in early March), my transmission started shifting incorrectly (I only had about 43,000 miles on the truck and I NEVER towed more than a few hundred pounds). At first, I was told that there was just some "trash" in the valves. I made an appointment to have the "trash" cleaned out. When I took the truck in, they found that my transmission was bad. They found CHUNKS of metal (from the transmission) in the pan. I had to have the whole transmission replaced, costing me $3,200. The dealer where I had the work done had no explanation for why the transmission went bad. They suggested that I call Chrysler and demand that they pay for it since it appeared to be a factory defect. So, I called Chrysler. They only offered to pay 50% of the cost. I think this is BULL since I did nothing to cause the transmission to go bad. Anyway, the purpose of me making this page is to find out if anyone else had a similar problem with a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel w/ an automatic transmission. I want Chrysler to know that this isn't just one truck that's having problems and that they need to improve the quality of their product.
