Hello from America's Heartland ..... Yukon, Oklahoma....
Our home is just south of Mainstreet America - Interstate 40/Route 66 between Yukon and Mustang, Oklahoma... we call it "Yutang". We have lived in our present location for over 20 years. In case you didn't know, Oklahoma means "red man". It is also a land of strong south winds during most of the year, tornados most anytime, and frigid air from the north during winter. It is the general area where most thunderstorms are born that move toward the US Eastern seaboard.
What we do between weekends.....
Both Susie and I continue to work for the Oklahoma City Public School district. I enjoy teaching elementary music while Susie works as a Child Find Facilitator in the area of Special Education.
Our oldest son Benjamin.....
and his lovely wife Deysi and family, after staying with us since last September, have returned to China to work for the Master. Our third grandchild, pictued above, was born here in Yukon, OK on October 16, 2008. For additional information about Ben and Deysi's work in China please visit the "AVIAH" link on this page.
Zachary our youngest son.....
graduated December 2007 from the University of Oklahoma with a major in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. He is currently in his first year of Law School at the University of Oklahoma. He still loves sports, golfing, music, spending time with his friends.... and the list goes on, but he has not time for such things now since his nose is in the law books at OU. Oh, by the way, he is engaged to Alicia Hutson from Claremore OK and they are planning an August wedding in 2009.
Grandma West (Mabel).....
still lives in a retirement home called Strawberry Fields which is located about 5 miles south of us in Mustang, OK. She always looks forward to the times she can spend with her family.... especially her grandsons and great grandchildren.
