JOSEPH JOHN FREDRICK (JJF) FLOYD (JOHN, JOSEPH) was born Abt. 1816 in Early County, Georgia, and died January 18, 1870 in Miller County Georgia. He married REBECCA SPOONER September 12, 1842 in Early County , Georgia, daughter of JOSEPH SPOONER and ELIZABETH ROE.

J.J.F. and Rebecca Floyd were members of the Union Baptist Church, located about 3 miles west of Colquitt, Ga. and are both buried in the cemetery there. When I first visited this cemetery these two graves were in a little iron enclosure and on the gate inscribed in iron work was the word "FLOYD". On my last visit there in the summer of 1958 the inscription had been torn from the gate.

I do not know who furnished the information that appears on John and Rebecca's markers but the dates of birth are in error.
