Rebecca Spooner Floyd outlived her husband 12 years. I quote from a letter from Mrs Amanda Spooner Butler, Quincy, Fla. Recieved 1954; Mrs Butler , who was a neice of Rebecca Floyd was 80 at that time. She (Rebecca) went to Texas to visit her daughters (Mary and Martha), and when she came back, she was as yellow as a pumkin and died very shortly.
The index to will book I of the records of Miller Co., Ga. List the will of Rebecca Floyd as being recorded on page 15 but it was not there and the clerk of court was unable to find it when I went through these records in March 1956.

There is some question in my mind that this person does not belong to this family group. This information is from the 1860 census of Miller County, Ga., which lists the birthplace of all the children as being in Alabama. Sarah's birthplase is listed as South Carolina. The occupation of G.F. is listed as clerk next to Thomas S. Floyd , merchant, I assumed they might be brothers, which may or may not be the case.
ii. CHARITY FLOYD, b. Abt. 1850.
iii. SARA M. FLOYD, b. Abt. 1854.
Andrew (Drew) Floyd , with his brother, Steven, and John Abner, moved to Morehouse Parish, La. with a small colony of Georgians in 1871. John Abner Floyd moved on to Gurdon, Arkansas. Stephan stayed in Bastrop, La., and Andrew moved just over the Arkansas line. Andrew Pierce Floyd and Sarah Ann Smith Floyd are buried at Lick Prairie cemetery near White, Ark. A.P. Floyd has a masonic emblem on his monument.

Transcribed from notes received from Eunice Elizabeth Dillon ... Notes for Eliza RAWLS -93 Tue. Mar 12,1996 Civil war Records have widow's pension request filed with Eliza Rawls FLOYD signing her name with an "X" and witnessed. 1860 Miller County Census Records show Eliza RAWLS in school at age 9. (EFD reasons that someone signed her name with an "X" and witnessed it, possibly one of her sons. The pension was approved, and it saved time driving a mule & wagon three miles into Colquitt (or vice-versa) for her to sign her name. Also, my mother, Callie BRASWELL FLOYD, lived with "Uncle Bill & Aunt Nass" (William H. RAWLS* & Sarah Manassa NEWBERRY) for ten years before she married my father, Charles Thomas FLOYD. Eliza was Tom's Grandmother and my mother told me that Eliza could read and write. * William H. Rawls was a brother of Eliza. ***NOTE**** Since these were part of Eunice's Notes, I chose to transcribe them in her words. 03/28/96 Bill FLOYD.
