Janet's Home Page

Welcome one and all! I am a quilter/orienteer/mother of two in eastern upstate New York. I progressed through various crafts to get to quilting, and here I stayed. I've been making quilts and quilted items since about 1987. The ones I'm drawn to the most have a combination of piecing and appliqué, as reflected in many of the quilts I've made. As a member of East Side Quilters guild in New York since its beginnings in 1992, I have also responded to many of my guild's challenges. Come see my quilt scrapbook.
When I'm not indoors working on quilts, you can find our family orienteering or skiing, depending on the season. Orienteering is called "the thinking sport" because you have to pay attention to a map and to your surroundings as you walk or run from one marked spot to the next. Learn about orienteering, and check out where to find events near you (in the US or around the world). We've been downhill skiing in Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine and even in New York.
Once a week I volunteer at the elementary school library, helping them keep their computer card catalog in order. In addition, I'm the volunteer webmaster for the US Orienteering Federation, maintaining and improving the site.
I hope you enjoy your visit. Let me know what you think of my page (espeically if there's a problem). Below, I've listed just a few :-) of my favorite Internet quilting sites.
