Some Of the Best of Arizona
Back to My Homepage!
This is intended for pictures of Arizona that my daughter and I have taken during a hiking or camping trip. Our most frequented spot for hiking is South Mountain, it's close by for a quick escape from the city.
If we have a little more time we head for the Superstitions or other nearby trails.
For longer hikes we head north to Sedona, Fossil Springs (one of our favorite spots), Flagstaff, the Rim or one of a hundred trails in the high country. We also like to do trail work for the Arizona Trail which is over 700 miles spaning from the Mexican border north to Utah.
We like back packing and canoeing and hope to increase our experiences in these areas. Arizona is a great place to get out into the open for a wide variety of scenery and climates. I love it here!
(soon to be added, as soon as I can get the scanner/sizing/upload and everything else working correctly!)
A view of Weaver's Needle from Fremont Saddle in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. This is one of our favorite hikes close to home. It is most enjoyable fall through spring. There are quite a few trails that start off the Peralta Trailhead--anything from a couple of hours to several days! We've seen huge elk and heard about mountain lions in the area--we've never seen one and I've got mixed feelings about wanting to. Fremont Saddle takes only a couple of hours and at times can be too crowded. Taking one of the other trails from Peralta offers more seclusion and escape from a weeks worth of stress.
