Christ’s Mission in the Yucatán (CMY)Monument to the Nation...Merida, Yucatan

Our mission has always been to help start new churches.  We have had the goal of starting new churches as well as strengthening the existing churches in the Yucatán.  We have attempted this through many methods, but always with the idea that one-day we might just work ourselves out of a job.   Praise to God, that since 1985 He has continued to open doors for us to continue helping here in the Yucatán.

Through the help of several Churches of Christ/Christian Churches mainly in the Michigan area but also from New Jersey and Virginia, CMY has been able to accomplish many of its original goals and several new ones.  Back in 1985 the Gates Family arrived to work with churches started by Samuel Gonzalez and his mission “Yucatán Peninsula Christian Mission”.  In 1990 when the Gonzalez’s left to continue their work in San Luis Potosi at “Colegio Cristiano del Centro”, the Gates’ continued working with the many churches established in the Yucatán.  Since 1990 several new churches have been started with the help of both missions.  God has used so many to further his work.  One of the churches is one in Mérida in the suburb of Emiliano Zapata Sur 3 and a new church plant by Francisco and Rosy Diaz in the town of Pedro Santos.  This is village about 40 miles north of Chetumal.

There is so much more to do and Lord willing CMY will be there to help.
