The dictionary definition of "THANKFUL" is: to
express gratitude, a feeling of kindness, pleasure, and value to another for some favor or
gift.
Thankfulness is an incredible thing. It builds up and appreciates
the person or group it is given to, and at the same time lifts the one willing to express
it. The result is superior to that effected by any payment, and cannot be demanded. A
genuine expression of Thankfulness to God for what He is, and has done for us as His
people, is a true and acceptable form of worship.
Ps 100:1-5
1
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not
we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with
praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth
to all generations.(KJV)
Phil 4:6-8
6 Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are
lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any
praise, think on these things. (KJV)
Rev 7:9-12
After this I looked and
there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe,
people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were
wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our
God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders
and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and
worshiped God,
12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!" (NIV)
