On 1 April she immigrated to Canada with her mother and step father to a homestead near Delisle, Saskatchewan

She married Karl Johan Gilbertson, son of Gulbrand  Gulbrandson Raastad and Guri Olson, on 16 July 1905 at Loganton, Saskatchewan. After Karls death she married Samuel Waters in 1955 at Salmon Arm, British Columbia.

She died on 15 June 1961, in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, at age 72 and was buried on 19 June 1961, at Mount Ida Cemetery, Salmon Arm, British Columbia.

They had 4 children:
 

1.  Clarence Bernard Gilbertson was born on 25 May 1908 at Delisle, Saskatchewan. He married Lulu Wall on 8 March 1933 at Kinistino, Saskatchewan.

2.  Irene Frances Gilbertson was born on 14 October 1911 at Delisle, Saskatchewan. She married Gordon James Harper, son of Frances James Harper and Johanna Anneta Wiechmann, on 9 November 1934 at St Andrews United Church Manse, Kinistino, Saskatchewan.  She died on 1 February 1977, at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at age 65. She was buried on 7 February 1977, at Kinistino Cemetery, Kinistino, Saskatchewan.

3.  Walter Gordon Gilbertson was born on 24 February 1913 at Delisle, Saskatchewan. He married Rose Thomson on 24 July 1945 at Glasgow, Scotland. He died in 1980, at British Columbia, at age 67.

4.  Bernice Isobel Gilbertson was born on 17 October 1917 at Kinistino, Saskatchewan. She married Kenneth Conway on 16 August 1946. She died on 27 March 1994, at San Diego, California, at age 76.
