CORRECTION!!!

I stand corrected on the name of the song Alan is singing on this CD...It is actually "We're All God's Children" and not "What Kind of Man Jesus Is". If you are like me and collect anything and everything to do with Alan then be sure and get this one too. It was released on February 25th. The album is titled "Peace in the Valley: A Country Music Journey Through Gospel". Alan Jackson is one of the featured artists on this. Be sure and get your copy!

Alan Jackson Puts Family Values Up Front

Alan Jackson is not your typical Nashville country star, even though he is at the top of his class. Staying home and spending time with his family is tops with him. Fishing, flying--as he works toward his pilot's license--and of course cars, are some of his other past times that win out over all those music business schmooze-fests. "I'm not involved with the music business that much," Jackson declares. "I don't keep up with the trades or watch the charts...It keeps me separated from the showbiz side of it." And that's how Alan likes it.

Just because you call yourself a Strayhorn, doesn't mean you have to look like one. Alan Jackson recently took his band, The Strayhorns, to Manuel's shop in Nashville so each of them could get a fancy designer jacket. He picked up the tab, and they most recently wore them on the CMA show.

If you are like me and collect EVERYTHING Alan does then here is a must get item! Due out in stores on October 7th the new Christmas Album "A Country Superstar Christmas" on Hip-O Records. It contains 14 tracks by several of Nashville's biggest stars. Alan and Alison Kraus do their duet "The Angels Cried." Other artists include Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Reba, George Strait, Wynonna, Alabama and Amy Grant to name a few others. Be sure and look for it!

CMA Awards

I have been selected as one of the top Alan Jackson sites on the web and will be linked to
The Official CMA Awards Webcast Site
Please stop in and check it out. They have trivia games, online chats and an online store to purchase CMA things. They will be adding behind the scenes things and photos from the night of the awards, as well as having realaudio and real video streaming! This site will be up for a year so drop on in.

Alan Jackson recently bought a 60-foot, custom-built saltwater fishing boat to fish for blue marlin. It was christened "Dixie" has three state rooms and is powered by 12-hundred-horsepower engines.

Great News!

It has been reported that after 4 1/2 months of separation, Alan and Denise
are officially back together and he has moved back into their home.
The couple plan to renew their vows on December 15th - their 19th wedding anniversary.
Denise says, "As ole Merle Haggard says, "If we make it through December,
everything is going to be all right, I know."
It is with a heavy heart that I post the following official press release.
My sympathy is with the Jackson Family at this sad time.

ALAN TO START NEW ALBUM AND WINS MILLENNIUM AWARD

The Holland Gazette has named Alan Jackson the Country Artist of the Millennium.
Jackson has announced that he's ready to begin his next album.
Hešll start recording soon, will break for a few late Summer or early Fall concert dates.
Other than those and his performance to close the final Arista Records Fan Fair show
as a stand-alone label, Alan has been off from work,
dedicating himself to spending more time with his wife and children.
JACKSON PREVIEWED a song at fanfair that may end up on the his next album.
It is a clever tune he wrote titled " www.memory." And as ARISTA
RECORDS-NASHVILLE becomes a memory and folds into RLG
Label Group, their final Fan Fair show was mostly a celebration of a
company that was a success from day one, thanks in
great part to Alan Jacksonšs success as their debut artist.

Alan Jackson Considers Children's Album

Alan spoke with LAUNCH about the idea for a children's project:
"I've kind of collected songs in my head for the last few years. I'd love
to do one. I guess I got interested in it more when I started having my
own children first of all, but then, especially when Chattahoochee"
came out, I had all these little fans. And I thought, 'Well, I'd like to
make an album that would be a whole album of songs, not necessarily
just my kind of songwriting stuff or something.
"My mama used to sing me all kind of songs that are, to me, real classic kind
of children's songs," he continues. "I'm not sure a lot of people remember
them anymore. They're really good songs."
