Great-grandfather was Eli Thurman. He and his wife Annie (Anna) lived in Dublin Texas and had 12 children. My grandfather Zora (Zoe Kent) was number 5 and was born Sept.1897. He married Alice Mae Goodwin who also was from Dublin.

I am looking for information on Perkins Thurman son of John Thurman ,sr. They were b. in SC and were in Henry Co., ALA in l840 & l850 and in Drew Co. AR by l860. Perkins is said to have moved to Ala in l831. He was married to a Lydia(liddy) ?GArdner. Cannot figure out what John his father was. A will in Henry Co. says that John was Perkins' father. There is a John, Jr., a Jeremiah, a James and a David Thurman in Henry Co ,Ala, too. Perkins' children: James ., Hiram b. l841, Levi b 1842, Michael b. 1848, Calvin b 1844, Joseph(l832), Anguish Wm.(Bill) b. 1847...all in ALA. In Ark. he had Marion, Richard Perkin(Dick), Charlie Monroe , Susannah, & Indiana. Dick & Charlie were b. in Ark. 1860. Any information on these Thurmans, especially John SR father of Perkins b. l807, John Jr. l816, John b. l815 & married to a Nancy b l815 in GA...children..Allie b. 1832 & d. 1905 ,m. thomas J. Cook. John H. Thurman b.1816 m. Nancy b 1820 in SC..Children: Sidney b. l843; Malinda b l847; Ira b. l850. The two John's are confusing. The names fit with the website of msmith, but they do not tie on. http://users.vnet.net/msmith/thurman.html The father John does not have dates so it is hard to tell if he tied to the John Thurmer or not.
