I believe I descend from Joseph Thurman who was in Prince William Co., VA in the 1750's then went south to Bedford Co and Pittsylvania Co's in the 1760's where he remained until the late 1790's. His descendants went into Tennessee around 1803 Can anyone ie him in with their research? I have a considerable amount of documentation on him and one of his descendants, Joseph Jr., but can't tie them to my GGG-grandfather, Jabez Thurman who was in Blount and Knox Co., Tennessee his entire life.

Please excuese my other attempt. Thanks! My branch of the Thurman Tree has been broken off. My Great-Grandfather claimed he didn't have any folks. He was Civil War Vet., William Thomas Thurman (born in Ark. 1842). I don't even know what side of the war he was on, because he spent a lot of time in Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, as well as Okla, and Ark. Died in a Hotel in Ark., bet. 1905-1915, thereabout. One son died young, and the only other son, was my Grandfather, Elsworth. He also had a daughter Merind , who married George Payne. (I found them, as well as a Sam & Mary Thurman in the Indian Territory Census 1900.) He listed his father as being from Arkansas, His mother from Tennessee. My Dad thought her maiden name was Davis. The only other clue my D d knew was Allen G. Thurman was his Grandfather's Uncle or Great-uncle, his father, Elsworth had told him. Any help with this I would really appreciate. Thanks!

I am a descendant of Bennett and Lucy Thurman from LaRue County, Kentucky (Hodgenville). I'm trying to find the Thurman connection in England. It would be Richard Thurman's (Mary Isbel's husband) father. I broke through this far by using Loren Thurman's site Thurman's Quest.
