I Will Remember
By Dakotarose

Here I stand on solid ground
Reaching up to you
Begging for the strength and will
That I pray will see me through
I feel you there inside my heart
Asking me, "please, not to cry,
Just live for all we shared together,
There's no such thing as good-bye."

The courage you showed throughout it all
As the battle raged on inside
You never stepped down or lost your ground
You fought with dignity and pride
And it's pride I have for all you are
For everything you gave
You never questioned the way things were
You just kept on true and brave

You opened my eyes to a brighter world
Side by side, we rose above
You graced me with your friendship
And you honored me with your love
I can't promise to always be strong
And never shed a tear in your name
But I will never regret and I will never forget
And I will never quit the game
So I lay a rose beside your name
And I wipe away a tear
And I hear you whisper inside my heart
Saying, "Remember me here."

Angie at 1 week
Angie was always a good baby. She cried very little,
and loved to travel. We would put her in her car seat and she
would be asleep before we reached the end of the block.

Angie and Snowball 1985

Grade School Picture 1988
Such a sweet face and a personality to match.

Angie & Santa Clause 1990

Family at Four Corners 1991 What a fun trip.

Angie & her little sister Amber 1993
She was talking to my best friend, Laura, on the phone.
Angie was the person who got me and Laura together. Isn't it
strange what you can remember just looking at a picture.

Class project - Fourth Grade 1994
Angie was always an excellent student and loved school.
She was selected to be principle of the day in 1991. She
was selected by her teacher as a good citizen,
representing outstanding academic and social qualities. As
Principal for a day, Angie served as a model for other
students to emulate.

Fourth Grade Graduation 1994
Her teachers loved her. After she got out of the hospital
the first time I took her down to visit with all of her past
teachers from Grand Junction.

This picture was taken when she was admitted into the hospital
the second time around. She received a wish from the Make A Wish
Foundation. Her wish was to have a shopping spree.
She recieved $1000. and a limo ride to the mall in Denver, Colorado .

Let's go shopping!!!!

December 25, 1995
All the cousins together for Christmas one last time.

Bone Marrow Transplant day.
Angie was always pleasant to be around, even when
she was feeling worse than any child should ever feel.

This was the carriage that brought Angie to the cemetary.
The following poem was given to us after her funeral.

Down the lane slowly I'll go,
Ever so gently I'll pull this carriage.
My task is no burden for the honor is great.
As you loved and cared for her in life,
So too I will care for her on this last goodbye.
With each strike of my massive hooves,
Her soul will soar in the heavens above.
In the years to come may you remember this day,
With memories of a giant grey horse,
That gently bore your loved one to her final rest.
Down the lane slowly I'll go.
