Here is a challenge, are there any takers?
Here is my biggest mystery. My grandfather's mother, Nellie Belle Woodmancy, was sent away to an orphanage when she was only four years old. Here's a pathetic picture of her at the time:
Fortunately, she was adopted by the Catawba, Ohio blacksmith John Lellis. In Catawba, she met and married Cliff Davisson.
In any case, though, we had the rest of the family pretty well mapped out, but knew nothing of her background, even though she somehow kept in touch with her mother. Well, thanks to serendipity and the excellent support of a fellow genealogy friend, the late Leo Garman, we learned a lot about William H. Woodmancy and, as it turns out, his fourth wife Nell Forey, but still know neither's parents. Here's an outline of William's life.
I would be grateful for any hints, clues or suggestions on how to discover more about anyone mentioned on these pages!
Thanks, all...
