Over Christmas holidays 2002-3, Luke and dad returned to Mississippi and Alabama to polish up their aksents. Here are some highlights from the trip.

At Youngtown, right beside Owen Chapel Church, this sign has been placed by the Lawrence County Historical Commission. It recounts some of the old history of the Youngs and the Owens in that neck of the woods. Our friend Jim Blankenship says the place used to be called Egypt because it was the only place for a long way around where corn could be grown during a severe drought in the nineteenth century. We're mostly growing pine trees on the old plantation land now. | |
