This book features the Civil War letters of my G. G. Grandfather, his girlfriend, her brothers and his parents. Alva wrote letters to Margaret Lucinda Cone of Dooly County, GA, throughout the war. He told of battles, adventures and the daily life of an infantry soldier. Alva was a regimental musician and formed a brass band that often entertained Generals in the field and at parties.
