When I trimmed the branches of the big oak tree a nest fell out.
I picked it up and looked at it for a long time.
I thought of how much time and work the mother bird had put into that little nest.
How neatly and perfect was each little twig placed.
Each little twig was carried in her bill one by one until her nest was complete.
It was a perfect circle of love I thought.
She sat there on her eggs through the storms,
the rain and the sunshine
She never once thought of abandoning her nest
or leaving it but for a little while to eat.
When her little chicks were hatched
she carried food back to the nest and fed the little open mouths.
She covered them with her wings and kept them safe in that little circle of love.
When the time came she pushed them from the nest to fly own their own.
While under her wings and in her nest they were safe.
But now it is was up to them to fly.
What a lesson in Motherhood from a little empty nest.
And a reminder that I also have to let my children fly solo as well.

Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not,nor do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.

I am an empty nester.
If you don't know what a empty nester is let me tell you.
An empty nester is a Mother who is struggling with the loss of her last little birdie that left the nest.
After spending almost thirty years caring for the little birdies
and to now be alone in the nest;
You find yourself going through a lot of changes.
You fly around all day gathering food
and come back home to an empty nest with no little mouths open for you to feed
. You find yourself chirping and no one chirps back
. You just hear the echo of your own chirp in the woods
. You have no appetite cause it is no fun pecking around the feeder alone.
Sometimes you get lonesome for the company of another bird
so you visit the neighborhood bird bath
and the blue jays don't like company so they run you off.
So you go back to your nest and sit there
and wish for the old days
where your little birdies were pecking around beside you
and you sang a sweeter song........

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word,and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth,some an hundred fold, and some sixty,some thirty.
Matthew 13:23

~UNDER PERFECT WINGS~
An article in National Geographic several years ago
provided a penetrating picture of God's wings..
.After a forest fire in Yellowstone Park,
forest rangers began their trek up a mountian
to assess the inferno's damage.
One ranger found a bird literally pettrified in ashes
,perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree
.Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight,
he knocked over the bird with a stick.
When he struck it ,three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings.
The loving mother keenly aware of impending disastar,
had carried her offspring to the base of the tree
and had gathered them under her wings,
instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.
She could have flown to safety
but had refused to abandon her babies
.When the blaze had arrived
and the heat had scorched her small body,
the mother had remained steadfast
.Because she had been willing to die,
those under the cover of her wings would live...

~Psalm 91:4~
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Being loved this much can make a difference in our lives
.We can remember the One who loves us
and then,be different because of it......
Psalm 36:7
How excellent is thy loving kindness,Oh God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust
under the shadow of thy wings!
