Delivered Pizza Taste Test
The best-tasting pizza: Papa John's
Methodology:
This test was done at work for lunch. We ordered 3 pepperoni pizzas to be delivered at noon. One from Pizza Hut, one from Papa John's, and one from Domino's. Nationwide, pepperoni is the most popular pizza topping, so that's why we chose pepperoni. All were large pizzas, except the Pizza Hut pizza, which was an extra large. There happened to be a great special on extra large pizzas, and the extra pizza was considered to be more important than maintaining the relative size of the slices. Each respondent received three slices of pizza, one from each of the three pizza brands.

Domino's was the big loser here. Most commented that it was dry, and not as flavorful as the other two. Though Papa John's won in the taste test, it also arrived the latest. Pizza Hut was right on time, and Domino's was just a few minutes late. Domino's was the most expensive of the three, so it lost on both taste and price. I've been a Papa John's fanatic since college, and these findings provide empirical evidence of what I've believed for some time-- that Papa John's has much better pizza than other national chains.
