Willowbrook Community Guide

Community Overview

Willowbrook is a town of about 8,500 20 miles west of downtown Chicago. The town contains an industrial park in its northeast corner and a variety of multi-family housing, along with some single family houses. An 18-acre community park with recreational facilities was completed recently, and other recreational facilities include 10 parks containing sports fields, tennis courts, jogging paths and playgrounds. Two public schools (district 62) serving Kindergarten through Eighth Grade are within Willowbrook's borders and some children attend school in neighboring towns (District 60 in Clarendon Hills or district 181 in Hinsdale). Public High School students go to Hinsdale South or Hinsdale Central. (See below for details on Willowbrook schools).

Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Rte. 83, Cass Ave., 75th. St.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills stations on the Burlington Northern (BN) line.
