Community Overview
Summit is a small village just northwest of Bedford Park. It is about 12 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Grade school children attend district 104 schools and go on to Argo High School, district 217. *See below for details on schools.
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-94/Dan Ryan Expwy., I-57), and major local roads (Cicero Ave., 79th. St., 87th. St., Central Ave., Narragansett Ave.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Norfolk & Western Line and by Amtrak. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 35 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE.
